Bella's Mom (Spark Alumni Oreo), was abandoned in a field. It is unclear if she was abandoned pregnant or with her pups, but she found her way to a home and led the humans to her babies.
They found 9 pups, 8 alive. Mom and babies were brought to the rescue and put into foster care. Mom had the most gentle disposition, and she passed that on to her pups, especially Bella. Although Tommy will one day grow into his huge paws, right now he is still that lovable, snuggly, affectionate puppy, who loves nothing more than getting ear scratches and belly rubs.
